A is for Apples

Apples, Apples, Apples

The theme for today was A is for Apples.

Who knew there was so much to learn about apples?! We had a great time learning about the different kinds of apples and their colors. Our science experiment was to guess if apples would float in water. All the kids make the hypothesis that apples would indeed float and they were right.

Our next activity was counting and doing simple math. Each kid had their own apple and we cut it up and counted the number of seeds and glued them to the correct picture and number. The kids were so excited to see the inside of the apple. Unfortunately, I picked apples that only had one or two seeds so it was pretty anticlimatic.

For art time we tore up red paper and then glued it onto a paper plate to make an apple. The kids are getting pretty efficient with glue sticks. The girls are always more particular and McKay is done in less than two minutes. Boys will be boys I guess.

The BIG hit was making caramel apples.

They unwrapped the caramels and helped me measure the rest of the ingredients.

They were delicious!!!!

Brooklyn is so much taller that I had to move several apples higher so she had room to stand
