The kids were so excited today when they did the weather. Finally something different then hot & Sunny or Sunny & Windy. Definitely feel the chill in the air today!
Our theme today was Nutrition - Healthy Bodies. We played a matching game with fruits and vegetables. The kids had fun learning about vegetables they had never heard of like artichoke hearts and turnips. I think the favorites are definitely fruit!!! We also talked about other ways to keep our bodies healthy. Exercise, brushing our teeth, going to sleep, eating healthy snacks, and taking a bath.
Sydnee was so cute today. I asked the kids why it was important to go to bed at night. Her reply..."Because Santa won't come if you don't go to sleep." And she is exactly right!!!!
I decided to take the kids on a little field trip to the grocery store so we could talk about and see all the different foods in the food groups. They each had their own paper that showed them foods in each of the food groups--fruits, vegetables, meats &beans, dairy, grains, and nuts & oils.
They all had a blast exploring the aisles and deciding if things were healthy or not so healthy.

For their science experiement, we used the primary colors & made other colors with colored water, straws, and baby food jars. They thought this was really fun. They enjoyed making hypothesis and sometimes their results even matched! Thanks to Dinosaur Train for this fun printable that we glued into the science notebook.

Love this picture.
